Strategic Role • Be responsible for developing and implementing the national fundraising strategy • Guide and monitor foreign offices in developing and implementing their fund raising strategies • Create long term sustainability and fundraising plans for Magic Bus • Guide state units and programme teams to optimize fund raising opportunities Fundraising, Funds Management and Donor Relations • To oversee the India and International fundraising efforts for Magic Bus. • To ensure a continued and increasing quantity of funding for our programme work, maximizing both national and international funding opportunities • To ensure that all major funds are well managed and reported, attaining their objectives, and implemented within agreed budgets and timelines • To ensure broad and effective integration between the Sustainability and Programme departments, together with a strong pipeline of clear proposals, for corporates, trusts and foundations, and individuals Leadership / Representation • To lead, manage and motivate all direct reports, ensuring that the Programme Team is guided by and fully compliant with the PMS (Performance Management System) To contribute towards a functional, effective and respected organization • To represent Magic Bus externally, within India and/or internationally • To take on other tasks or responsibilities, as requested by the Chief Operating Officer Financial Management • To work with the Finance Department to ensure that the future growth of Magic Bus is built upon a solid foundation of professional and clear financial management and monitoring systems • Ensure that the finance and accounts function are carried out as per the set guidelines • Ensure that the queries generated are responded to in time and State & District offices are well versed with the A & F guidelines so as not to generate queries Relationship Management • Maintain relationships with key stake-holders both within and outside • Create and maintain relationships with other state departments People Development • Help create a culture where everyone feels responsible towards raising funds. • Ensure that Magic Bus does not lose out on any opportunities for people development and growth • Managing the issues of the team and ensuring smooth relations between the teams • Keeping the staff motivated to deliver their best results • Train, mentor and coach staff, conduct performance appraisals, and identify and ensure support for capacity building needs • Work with the Finance/Admin /HR Officers to manage Magic Bus’s legal compliance in India KEY RESULT AREAS Voluntary Income Fundraising • Creating funding strategies for voluntary income from corporate, institutions and individuals and implementing them • Creating sustainable funding partnerships with multi-year commitments • Mobilizing both monetary and non-monetary resources • Planning and implementing a strategy for moving from an international funding model to a local funding model • Help create an MIS on allocation of funds toward programmes with finance department • Collection of payments from donors • Ensuring that all necessary reports are available to donors on time • Research and be up-to-date with the social sector for finding new avenues for funding and new techniques/strategies Revenue Income Generation • Develop and oversee the implementation of innovative social business models to generate revenue • Supporting the programme team in launching the Magic Bus Consultancy business • Merchandising of Magic Bus sports clothing • Managing profit making events such as sports meets and fundraising dinners/concerts etc. Relationship Management • Managing relationships with international and local stakeholders • Creating best practice guidelines for our relationships management fully utilizing tools such as database and website
